Hitting League begins Sunday, November 1st!
League Information: The Indoor Hitting League is a competition between teams comprised of 4 players each hitting against a pitching machine for points. Teams play 7 innings or one hour. Points are determined by the placement of the hits.
Season/Dates: The league will be held on Sunday and Thursday evenings, beginning November 1, 2015 for 6 weekly sessions (skipping Thanksgiving week) and ending Thursday, December 17th.
Divisions: Teams will be placed into divisions to compete against other teams of the same age.
Awards: The team with the most points at the end of the season within each age group will receive individual trophies.

Hitting League Rules:
Each team will bat 4 players per inning
Each player will get 5 hittable pitches per inning
Pitching machines will throw 12" balls and speeds will be set according at age
Games will be 7 innings or 45 minutes – whichever comes first
An inning is completed when a team has batted 4 players
Helmets must be worn at all times
The team with the most points at the end of the league in each age group wins the league
Any foul language or throwing of bats/helmets will result in player disqualification
Team may us a substitute player if the regular team member is absent
It will be up to each team to provide their own person to feed the pitching machine
Teams may enter the building 15 minutes prior to their scheduled time to warm up in the tee area.
Teams are not allowed to conduct practice in the infield or have any type of practice for any players that are not signed up for the hitting league.
OGSA will provide a score keeper each night for each cage – scorekeepers have the final say
SCORING SYSTEM (all divisions)
Line drive hit under the blue rope = 1 point
Line drive hit between the blue and red rope = 2 points
Line drive hit above the red rope = 3 points
Line drive into the pitchers net/pitching machine = 4 points
Line drive hitting the back net behind pitching machine = 5 points
Any other ball hit off the top of the net or the turf floor in fair territory = 0 points
A swing and miss = 0 points
Foul balls = 0 points
